our Story

While living in Australia for four months, we were struck by the extravagant generosity and kindness of Aussies as they regularly gifted flowers to each other for what Canadians would consider mundane moments. When we got back to Calgary, we couldn’t get this cultural idea out of our heads and decided to start Majesty Florals to inspire that sort of kindness here in the North. 

We live in a society where feeling isolated and alone isn’t uncommon. Where an attitude of perfection-in-messiness still doesn’t answer our desire to be seen. Where busy days turn into busy weeks that imperceptibly turn into busy years. Where we are distracted from what matters most – relationships and community.

We so badly want others to create this community for us and we forget that our world, more often then not, needs us to be the change we want to see. 

Celebrating the people we care most about, cherishing those who don’t love us back, choosing to walk together through the exciting + sorrow-laced seasons is why we keep designing raw, gathered, elegant creations full of breath-taking botanicals. It is our answer to the darkness, loneliness and doubt that can so often descend on us like a choking fog.

Flowers brighten every space they are invited; they bring a warmth that Norwegians call “koselig” – a welcoming, relaxed, tranquil, homey and friendly environment perfect for creating special times with friends, sipping drinks, enjoying food together around the table and finding happiness in the midst of the everyday realities of life.

Our hope is that each arrangement that leaves our hands, will bring those sorts of feeling to the space it is placed; that the kindness and goodness it was inspired by reminds others of their value and “seen-ness” by those that give.
